Senior Pastor
Pastor Markus T. Sallie
On November 6, 2022, Rev. Markus T. Sallie was installed as Senior Pastor of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas. As his mentor and spiritual guide, Rev. Sallie is continuing in the steps of Dr. Paul E. Walker. Since he was a little child, Pastor Sallie has mimicked the gospel speaker, and his sermons are prophetic, personable, and successful in drawing people to Jesus Christ.
A native Texan with strong ties to the community of Wilmer, Pastor Sallie is no stranger to Friendship; his return to his home church gave biblical instruction, leadership development, and pastoral care to its congregation. God’s elevation is the fulfillment of Proverbs 18:16, “A man’s gift makes room for him” (NKJV), after twenty-three years of dedication to God’s ministry as a musician and speaker.
Pastor Sallie’s job as the senior pastor is humbling, but God has prepared his steps through various experiences. He is a widely recognized preacher and musician, but his true passion is to assist God’s people and the community. Pastor Sallie maintains his face before God in order to stand before the people. Friendship had the honor to react to the call that God confirmed in heaven, and Pastor Sallie gave God another, “Yes!”
With both spiritual insight and education, Pastor Sallie is a skilled gospel preacher. He attended Faith Bible Institute and is presently working on a Bachelor of Biblical Studies at Houston Baptist University. Pastor Sallie is a member of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America, the Oak Cliff Ministerial Union, and the Fellowship Missionary Baptist District Association. He is honored to serve as the Baptist Convention’s National Musician and as the Assistant Co-Chair of the National Evangelistic Board.
Pastor Sallie is happily married to Lady Myeshia, the love of his life, and the proud father of five children: Tylyn, Sarai, Josiah, Micaiah, and Leah. Sallie enjoys spending time with his family, creating memories with them, and hearing laughing. He believes that his family is his primary ministry.
